Mr. Stone was out ill Monday through Wednesday of this week. Students began viewing William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
To help students understand the diversity of productions of this class play, they watched Act I of the American-Australian film adaptation of the play directed by Baz Luhrmann (1996), starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. They continued viewing the the British-Italian film adaptation directed by Franco Zeffirelli (1968), starring Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey. Zeffirelli's version is partly noted for its depiction of the 14th Century Renaissance Italy setting by filming at numerous historic sites in Italy.
Homework: Students received a study guide for the upcoming test and were directed to work on completing it. They will turn in the study guide at the time of their test next week:
